Meet The Specialists

Paul Joerger, AFM

Paul is the founder of AgriLand, and the services are centered around his expertise in the acquisition, management and disposition of agricultural farm land. He brings a unique perspective with his 31 years of agricultural and real estate experience. His vast network of relationships, in all sectors of agriculture, continues to grow and is instrumental in bringing “ideal” solutions to his clients. He is currently a State Registered Appraiser and has completed complex appraisals in agricultural, commercial and industrial properties.

His professional tenure has focused on real estate services related to land management, brokerage and appraisal. His career started as an Assistant Vice President-Farm Manager for US Bank in managing farms (40,000 acres) for a 1st Trust Company.  Since that time, he has been in senior real estate management roles (300,000 acres) with the largest farm management company in the United States, Farmers National Company, and Hancock Agriculture Investment Group (250,000 acres, $1.8B assets). Most recently he purchased and managed $60M of farm land for a Boston based land fund.

Paul graduated from North Dakota State University with two degrees:  B.S. and M.S. in Agricultural Economics. He is an Accredited Farm Manager(AFM) and was the President of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers in 2013 and member since 1988. He has extensive teaching experience at the University of Kentucky in the Agriculture Economics department. Paul has been teaching as a certified instructor since 1992 for his peer professional group, ASFMRA, on topics related to the professional management of farm land and agricultural assets. He is also certified Real Estate Broker in Oklahoma, Kansas, North Carolina and South Dakota.

Tamara Joerger

Tamara is the co-founder of AgriLand. She has over a decade of real estate expertise in sales, evaluation, negotiation, and relationship building.  Most recently she has been preparing appraisals on commercial, agricultural and industrial properties.

Tamara graduated from North Dakota State University with degree of Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Economics.  During her college years she worked part time, and after graduation full time as a radio broadcaster specializing in grain and livestock reporting for NDSU and The West Fargo Stockyards including live reporting for 20 plus stations.  Her recent professional career has been focused as a Real Estate Broker for over 18 years in residential, commercial and agriculture properties. Tamara’s numerous awards including Century 21 #1 in Sales for her branch in 2006 and #2 in sales in 2007. In that time, she served on the Southern Oklahoma MLS committee, served on the Board of Directors for the local YMCA and was certified substitute teacher, director of the church choir for 10 years, and a participant in numerous community efforts. All this accomplished while raising her four children.

Tamara holds a Real Estate Brokers license in Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Massachusetts, and South Dakota. She is currently a South Dakota State Registered Appraiser, a member of the Professional Appraisers Association of South Dakota, and The American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers.
